without music I don’t know where I’d be. Now I’m feelin’ like I’m finally free..
but this ain’t just music to me..”
Let’s see.. where do I start?
I can’t express enough how overwhelmed I am by all the positive feedback and insight for the Sincerely Yours EP. It is so encouraging and inspiring to see how the music is speaking to the hearts and minds of so many listeners. Once again, thank you all! The music is sincerely yours!
Since the momentum is at such a great pace, let’s keep it going..
I do have much more music on the way and some recent releases that I’ve been involved in so I thought I’d group them all together for your convenience. Considerate ain’t I?
I will be releasing my 2nd Cantonese album in Hong Kong this coming August. The first single is a track called 人氣急升 (pronounced YUN HAY GUP SING). The concept of the track is me sharing how everything has just been on a steady uprise for me and my career in the past 2 and half years since I’ve moved to Hong Kong. As my career is continuously prospering, I’m saying that it is a must to “stay calm” for everyone.. most importantly, myself. Production wise, it has a old school boom bap feel to it..
There’s only word to describe this next track.. AIYA! Me and Toestah dedicating this one to all the #AIYAfambam! Find yourself?
A few months back Derek from Magnetic North reached out and said they were doing a track with Taiyo Na for Asian Heritage Month. I heard the track and said “Count me in!”
Me and J Reyez are just like you.
Many years ago, I did a track with two good brothers Chan (he had a Snacky in front that back then) and LS.. 2011.. we still here.
Lastly, JL x Manifest will be releasing their mixtape ‘PULL.HAUL.JUNKIES.’ soon.. This is a sampler. I’m not on the sampler.. I am on the mixtape.
If you guys have been watching any of my daily 3 min vlogs, you may have noticed some reappearing individuals.
One of them being KT.
Here we are on our way to play some ball.
Unlike me, KT was born and raised in Hong Kong. I met him about 3 years ago when I first moved out here.
We went from strangers. To acquaintances. To friends. To homies.
About a year ago, one more element was added to our relationship with him signing on to Catch Adventures as an artist we would develop in HK. KT has always been into Hiphop culture even though growing up in a place where the culture was not as prevalent as in the states. Until I met him, he never experimented with writing or recording his own songs. As well, he pretty much had zero stage performance experience.
Which is what makes me so much more proud to see how far he’s come in such a short period of time.
Most of all, I can tell he knows how much he has to learn. He is determined. He loves the art.
Today is a big day for him being the release of his first official music video.
“Who Is KT?” is pretty much his self introductory bio in song form. Heads up, it is in Cantonese..
Congratulations brother. Keep working hard and remember to always stay humble.
It’s quite surreal to go from having never attended such an event before to standing on stage during the moment when one of the most prestigious awards is being presented for the evening.
Especially when the award is presented by the legends such as Ms. Lau Kar Ling (Winner of Best Female Lead) and none other than Detective Lee from Rush Hour himself. lol
For all my non-Cantonese speakers, the first 4-5 minutes or so of the clip is standard pre-award announcement banter..
As if that wasn’t epic enough, I also got to meet a true Hong Kong cinema O.G. in the flesh..
