I want to wish a [[Happy Birthday]] to a friend, spiritual mentor and good brother of mine, Jaeson Ma aka JMa. As we celebrate another year of your time here on this planet, I pray the Lord continues to lift you up in His glory! May He fill you with more wisdom, clarity and courage.

JMa is probably the only guy that I know who would rather give a gift on his birthday than to receive one. So he gives us his latest musical offering, Glory.

After an initial listen, here’s my first reaction in

At today’s church service, the pastor gave a sermon on Jude 1:24-25. Afterwards, he asked everyone in attendance to take out a sheet of paper and pen. He suggested we take some time to think and write our own doxology.

He gave us a simple phrase to start with.

My God is able to..

For God my Saviour through Jesus is..

At first, I tried to really put a lot of thought and concentration into it. Eventually, I just wrote down what was in my heart at the time.

My God is able to..

change my life for the better that I could not do on my own accord, using me  as a walking testimony of His glory.

For God my Saviour through Jesus is..

my best friend, my inspiration and my Father.

Reaching out.

I was recently contacted by a organization who specializes in assisting and serving the youth called Reach Out to do an online video interview sharing some of my life and career experiences.

As described on their wesbite,  “Reach Out is an information and support service using evidence based principles and technology to help teens and young adults facing tough times and struggling with mental health issues.”

Here I am sharing some insight into the world and mind of Jin. Why I am referring to myself in the third person, I have no idea.

I can really appreciate what the good folks over at Reach Out are doing.

The latest and greatest..

I recently released a mixtape. Of the 15 different unsigned artists that I did songs with on the project, there were certain ones that used profanity in their lyrics.

This apparently caught some of the listeners who downloaded the mixtape off guard. The overall sentiment was.. “Jin, this isn’t Christian rap..”

I do want to apologize for not giving everyone the heads up.

I can appreciate their sincere interest in what I do and their input on the direction that I take my music. This mixtape content wise, may not suit everyone’s taste, but I’m gonna go out on a limb and assume that that’s the case with any type of musical project.

The upside is that in the midst of all this I was inspired to write this post just very briefly examining the concept of “Christian rap” and my own personal take on it.

Breaking the cycle.

I was checking out various youtube clips of a new artist and came across this comment. Who wrote the comment and the artist it’s being written about isn’t that important.

I couldn’t help but be struck by what I was reading.

“weed, music, cash.

something to look up to”

I would never dare to pass judgement on this person

My testimony.

As much of it as I could fit into 9 minutes and 41 seconds.

I uploaded this a little over a year ago and what’s happened since then can only be described as life changing.

I want to thank all of you who have sent your words of encouragement, shared your insight and continue to keep me in your prayers.

The journey continues.

The daily walk.

Everyday I look to strengthen my bond and relationship with the Lord.

I am humbled by the experience and am excited to see what He has prepared for me in the days ahead.
